Angel Mollel

Founder & Executive Director

Born and raised in a poor Maasai village in Tanzania without electricity or running water, I grew up herding livestock and collecting water while dreaming of an education that few could afford. Thanks to my father’s belief in schooling, my sister and I were able to attend, and my love for learning set me apart.

In 2013, I moved to the United States for greater educational opportunities, overcoming cultural and language barriers to excel academically. In 2018, I founded 1 Love to support Maasai communities through education and opportunity while honoring our traditions. Today, I am a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, a production team member at FOX 31 News, a U.S. citizen, and proudly rooted in both Tanzania and the United States.

Born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado, I grew up on a horse ranch enjoying a traditional small-town upbringing filled with school, sports, and strong community values. I earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado and began my career in Denver’s technical staffing industry with large international organizations. In 2010, I stepped away from corporate life to volunteer in Tanzania, planning to stay six months but remaining for over a year. That experience reshaped my perspective and set me on a path of deeper purpose and global connection.
